Your views on How do CEOs think are very good and are realistic. I appreciate if you can forward such views on others in the decision making cycle to understand better about perception of people at different level.

Many of your ideas is both presentations are consistent with my current project on Socially Robust and Enduring Computing. Perhaps this, too, could be a basis for the collaboration between Persistent Systems and IUB School of Informatics and Computing. Let me know when a good time to discuss this with you or one of your Bloomington staff would be.

This is a classic case of "Reading between the Lines".
Persistent's initiative "Techstart" is a fabulous and most pragmatic example of making the most of any difficult situation.
i wish Persistent all the very best for this initative!

Anand, I read this book (Thanks!). Really fascinating. Specifically on the topic of communication and its relevance for software/product development (or project management in general) - I feel that in most projects communication quantity gets emphasized but not communication quality. I believe the root cause of poor communication quality is the lack of understanding of the purpose of a project and the purpose of a specific communication. We have all seen projects fail where there is a whole lot of communication that never served the purpose of getting the job done.

The slides were interesting and informative. Social Networking and it's possibilities are mind boggling.
President Obama's use of social networking cities in his campaign is a good citation.

To start with I have not exactly read the book, but yes I do know about it and all the examples Malcolm has given. Surely there are many things which can be taken from here, especially when he talks about the culture. Here is an example, when project manager plans things & developers knowing that it cannot be done, still nod their head and finally suffer in pain, which when inflates & makes the company suffer. Similarly no or less communication leads to in ability of people taking right decisions at right time or being reactive when a person needs to be pro-active. Finally if you see people at both the end move forward but the company suffers.
My take from outliers, let’s build a open culture where people see opportunity everywhere & thus the company grows.
